Who I Am

14 Years Building Dance Community in Estonia

I didn't grow up as a dancer. I walked into my first salsa night in 2010 just curious, maybe a bit nervous. Within two years I'd completed my professional certification from the International Latin Dance Federation, but that moment — realizing there were barely any welcoming spaces for adults over 45 to learn and dance — that's what changed everything.

Since 2015, I've organized over 200 beginner social dance events across Tallinn, Tartu, and Pärnu. I've trained more than 40 volunteer facilitators. I've watched 800+ regular participants discover that they're actually good at this, that their bodies still move, that community matters. That's the real work. Not fancy performances or competitive rankings — just real people finding confidence and connection through Latin dance.

My background includes formal study at Tallinn University of Applied Sciences in dance pedagogy, professional credentials from the International Latin Dance Federation, and years of hands-on experience running monthly socials in Tallinn Old Town, weekend beginner classes in Tartu, and seasonal gatherings in Pärnu. I've seen what works and what doesn't. I write for Weltrix OÜ because I want to help you find those spaces, understand the regional dance culture, and take that first step without overthinking it.

What I Do

Specialization Areas

Bachata & Salsa Events for Adults Over 45

I've built a specialized focus on Latin dance nights specifically designed for mature adults. These aren't intimidating club scenes — they're welcoming, judgment-free spaces where you'll find people your age, at your level, actually having fun. Over the past 9 years, I've developed a model that works: good music, patient instruction, and real community.

Regional Dance Scene Knowledge

I know the Tallinn Old Town venues personally — which ones have good sound systems, which ones attract the right crowd, where the beginner-friendly nights actually happen. Same for Tartu's community centers and Pärnu's seasonal gatherings. I've written detailed guides on finding quality classes and understanding the local dance culture across all three cities.

Beginner Instruction & Confidence Building

Most adults over 45 have never danced before — or haven't in decades. I've trained facilitators and taught classes specifically for this reality. My approach doesn't assume any background. We start with basic footwork, move at a pace that actually makes sense, and focus on building confidence instead of rushing to complex patterns.

Social Dance Programming

I've organized weekly socials, monthly themed nights, and seasonal events across Estonia. I understand what makes people come back — not just good instruction but the right atmosphere, the right music, and the right mix of people. I've learned what works for beginners and what keeps experienced dancers engaged.

Professional Journey

Key Milestones

01

Dance Education & Certification (2011-2012)

Completed formal dance pedagogy studies at Tallinn University of Applied Sciences. Earned professional certification from the International Latin Dance Federation. This wasn't just about learning steps — it was about understanding how to teach adults, how bodies move differently at different ages, and how to build confidence from the ground up.

02

Founding Beginner-Friendly Programs (2015)

Started organizing social dance events specifically for adults over 45. Recognized the gap in the Estonian dance scene — lots of competitive programs, very few welcoming spaces for mature beginners. Launched the first monthly social in Tallinn Old Town. Within two years, we'd expanded to Tartu and Pärnu with consistent weekly and seasonal programming.

03

Community Building at Scale (2016-2026)

Over the past decade, organized 200+ beginner social events. Trained 40+ volunteer dance facilitators across three cities. Built a participant base of 800+ regular attendees. Developed curriculum approaches that work specifically for older learners — less focus on perfection, more focus on enjoyment and social connection.

04

Senior Correspondent & Content Creation (2024-Present)

Currently serving as Senior Dance & Lifestyle Correspondent at Weltrix OÜ. Writing detailed guides on finding quality dance events, selecting beginner classes, and understanding regional dance culture. Every article comes from actual experience running events, teaching classes, and knowing the real venues and communities across Tallinn, Tartu, and Pärnu.

Where I Focus

Three Cities, One Mission

Tallinn Old Town Latin Dance Nights

Tallinn's got energy. The Old Town venues are perfect — good acoustics, atmosphere, and location. I've personally vetted the venues where beginner-friendly salsa and bachata nights actually happen. I know which events welcome older learners, which instructors teach at the right pace, and which nights have the best community feel. I've written guides that help you skip the guesswork and find your people.

Tartu Beginner Classes & Weekend Socials

Tartu's dance community is smaller but tight. That's actually better for beginners — less pressure, more personalized attention. I've established partnerships with local community centers and instructors. My weekend dance social model here works specifically because Tartu people appreciate quality over flash. I've detailed exactly what's available, how to get started, and what to expect when you walk into a beginner class.

Pärnu Seasonal Dance Gatherings

Pärnu's got a unique rhythm — seasonal tourism means seasonal dance events. I've learned when the best gatherings happen, which ones cater to beginners, and how to plan your dance calendar around Pärnu's rhythm. The summer season brings energy, but there's solid programming year-round if you know where to look. I've covered this in detail because it's different from the other cities.
